Everything is on a grand scale at the Grand Sierra Resort Arena project, including the boulders beneath the surface! To create a strong foundation for the new arena, approximately 800 Vibro Piers were installed. Before that happened, each pier location was drilled and prepared. In this photo a CME inspector is standing inside the hole left after a massive boulder was drilled out to make way for one of those piers. It’s a striking reminder of the scale of the work happening below ground before construction can rise above it.
