Pyramid McCarran Intersection, Sparks, NV
The Pyramid McCarran intersection is the busiest intersection in Sparks. The much-needed improvements included a complete reconfiguration with new travel and turning lanes, sidewalks, a multi-use path, landscaping, and decorative privacy screens as well as asbestos/lead abatement during demolition of dwellings. The $73 million project has resulted in an improved, safer configuration of the intersection, more efficient travel movements, and reduced congestion and vehicle emissions. Collaborating and coordinating with the Regional Transportation Commission of Washoe County, Nevada Department of Transportation and Federal Highway Administration, CME provided construction administration, materials testing and inspection services including:
