Project Highlight – Virginia Street Bus RAPID Transit Extension Project Phase 2

With the extensive underground utility work complete, this project entered into Phase 2, roadway reconstruction, in summer 2019 with new concrete sidewalks and paving beginning to talk place. Pushing through winter conditions, the construction team is working hard to stay on schedule for substantial completion by December 2020. This $80 million project along Virginia Street addresses the critical transportation needs to improve transit connectivity, efficiency, and timeliness by connecting transit to the University of Nevada-Reno as well as improving safety for all modes and correcting ADA sidewalk deficiencies.
