Last week CME hosted a dozen students from the ASCE Student Chapter for a tour of our office and laboratory. Students made their way through the CME office and learned about geotechnical engineering, inspection, materials testing and construction administration. They also explored our concrete cure room and trial batch area, our soils testing areas and our 50/50 room (kept at 50% humidity) in the laboratory. Our lab technicians took them through the steps of a sieve analysis and performed concrete cylinder breaks as well. Once the tour was complete students were treated to pizza and soft serve ice cream! Later in the evening members of the ASCE Young Members Forum met up with ASCE students and had a drive in movie night in the CME parking lot. We are very grateful for their time and attention while we shared the work we love.
